Free laboratory software from SoftClinic GenX
The SoftClinic GenX Laboratory app is free to everyone who signs up. It is a complete LIS workflow — registration and billing, sample collection, result entry, report certification and printing — and it runs in a browser, so there is nothing to install.

Read this before you join. This is a limited-use free version governed by a fair use policy, not the full commercial product. It is a standalone app: the free OPD, Laboratory and Pharmacy apps do not interconnect, so data does not pass between them. If you need the lab connected to OPD, IPD and billing as one system, that is the paid SoftClinic GenX platform.
What the free Laboratory app does
Registration and billing
- Patient register — add a new patient and keep the register
- New lab bill, raised manually or generated automatically
- Bill list and a full listing of every lab order

Samples
- Sample collection against a bill
- Samples received and accepted-sample tracking
- Pending samples — what has been billed but not yet collected
- QR code scanning, by camera or web scanner, to pull up a sample or a bill without typing
Results and certification
- Result entry per investigation, parameter by parameter
- Pending results and pending tests worklists
- Ready for certification queue
- Certify reports — pending and completed, with final certification and a view of what was certified
- Completed and cancelled test views
- Report PDF, ready to print or send
- Paper setting so the printed report fits your own stationery
Masters — set the lab up your own way
- Investigation master — add an investigation, define its parameters, configure each parameter, set reference ranges, and record the sample information each test needs

Analytics
- Laboratory analytics dashboard with live figures — total revenue, pending tests, samples collected, pending results and completed tests
What is not in the free version
- Orders arriving from an OPD or IPD system, and results flowing back to it. The free apps are independent of one another.
- Analyser and lab-equipment interfacing.
- Anything beyond the fair use policy. If your volumes grow past it, we will talk to you about a paid plan rather than switch you off without warning.
